UNRULY WOMB

the wanderings of a restless soul

I marched for my Christian sisters My conservative sisters My Muslim sisters My Jewish sisters My spiritual sisters My agnostic sisters My atheist sisters… No one woman I marched with looked the same… Not all our beliefs aligned… Not all our experiences aligned… But we found common ground on the steps of the state capital, we found common ground in the smiles we gave each other, in the compliments we offered each other… we knew that whatever particular reason we marched, and there were many, we made the same choice– we march today! I am grateful for the priveledge I have in this country to march with those that have a voice, those that do not, and even those who don’t want to share their voice with us. I marched for all the women in my lineage that probably never had the dream of lifting their voice. I can feel them in my beating heart thanking me… cheering me on for having conviction and acting on it. Their views probably would never align with mine, but they would look beyond those views and see passion. They would send their blessing, and they would be proud without condition.
